Latex International receives $2.5 million state loan

Industry supplier Latex International, with headquarters in Shelton, Conn., has received a $2.5 million loan from the state of Connecticut to implement the company’s growth plans. Loan terms stipulate the company must retain its workforce of 150 employees in Shelton and create as many as 30 additional positions by 2015.

“We want to thank the state of Connecticut for supporting Latex International and investing in our brand,” said David Fisher, president and chief executive officer. “We have been a partner in this community for over 35 years and are committed to keeping jobs and fostering growth in Shelton. This loan provides additional support for the continued expansion of our latex bedding business.”

Fisher said the money will be put toward domestic and international sales and marketing efforts, as wells as and research and development in the latex product category.

The company also has a manufacturing facility in Wichita Falls, Texas.
