Norfolk, Va.-based mattress maker Paramount Sleep has inked a deal with Biscayne Bedding International, allowing the Miami-based manufacturer to produce the Paramount portfolio of bed brands for distribution in Florida.
Biscayne Bedding is owned by Jan and Silke Wettergren, who purchased the 60-year-old company in 2011.
“We are delighted to broaden our distribution with a family-owned company like Biscayne,” said Jamie Diamonstein, Paramount Sleep president. “Jan and Silke are moving the company in the right direction, and we look forward to being an integral part of their future growth as they expand into a larger facility.”
Of the deal Jan Wettergren said, “Combining Paramount Sleep’s marketing leadership with Biscayne’s operational expertise makes this a marriage that will last. They have their finger on the pulse of the bedding industry and have a good feel for what needs to be done over the next five to 10 years. We look forward to following their lead to grow our business.”
This is Paramount Sleep’s third such partnership to broaden its national distribution. Earlier agreements with Cannon Sleep Products in Fresno, Calif., and Omaha Bedding in Omaha, Neb., expanded the company’s presence from its Norfolk plant into western and Midwestern markets.
