WithIt helping deliver holiday smiles

It’s that special time of year when everyone is dashing about madly trying to find the perfect gift—for everyone. Yes, it’s exhausting and your list may be long, but I hope you’ll consider picking up the perfect gift or two for a child in need.

The women’s furniture industry group WithIt (Virginias/Carolinas chapter) is making it easy to do–at least in my area. They’re collecting unwrapped children’s gifts and monetary donations to benefit Little Smiles, a nonprofit agency that delivers holiday cheer to children at hospitals and shelters.

The centerpiece of the event is coming up soon. Next Wednesday, the group is holding a mix-and-mingle event at 6 p.m. at the Chop House, 4001 Meeting Way in High Point. Come out with unwrapped gifts in hand—new coloring books, picture books, crayons, dolls, board games and DVDs are at the top of the list. Monetary donations will also be accepted.

Or, you can mail a check to Little Smiles, c/o WithIt, P.O. Box 16264, High Point, NC 27261. Checks should be made out to Little Smiles.

Another option is the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. The Marines make holiday gift-giving to needy children a cinch. Visit their website and find out how to make a contribution or find a toy drop-off site in your area.
