Just in time for the holidays, furniture retailer Art Van, headquartered in Warren, Mich., delivered 100 twin extra-long mattresses to fire stations across Chicago. First stop was Chicago Firehouse Engine 106/Truck 13/Ambulance 48, where Chicago Fire Commissioner Jose Santiago and Alderman Deb Mell were on hand to accept the donation.

“The Chicago Fire Department is the largest fire department in the Midwest, with firefighters serving around the clock, responding to more than 1,000 calls daily,” Santiago said. “We are incredibly thankful for Art Van’s support, their generous gift and recognition of the hard work our firefighters provide the city of Chicago.”

The Michigan retailer recently expanded into Chicagoland with eight stores and a ninth opening soon, a news release said.
