OMI hires director of sales development

Mattress manufacturer Organic Mattresses Inc., with headquarters in Yuba City, Calif., has hired Lauraine Bacon to the new post director of sales development. Bacon is responsible for new business development using the company’s demographic research to identify consumer demand for organic mattresses. She also assists with client services and training. Bacon reports to Walt Bader, OMI founder and president.

“Lauraine’s sustainable industry know-how and sales expertise has proved to be an immediate asset for OMI,” Bader said. “She has a great track record of bringing sustainable products and programs to market and we know we will benefit tremendously from her experience. More and more independent dealers and smaller regional chains are turning to OMI because we offer a unique product for their floors that sets them apart from the larger chain stores.”

“Not only do we provide great comfort, support and an aesthetically pleasing presentation, our strong, certified-organic health message provides important additional purchase motivations at the time of the sale,” Badded added. “We are confident that Lauraine will successfully bring in those retailers who will benefit most from our product lineup.”

Bacon has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and, most recently, was sales and marketing director for A Brighter Image.
