MRC submits Connecticut mattress recycling plan to the state

mattress recycling council logoThe Mattress Recycling Council has submitted to Connecticut regulators its plan for a statewide mattress-recycling program.  The state has 90 days to approve or disapprove the MRC plan. The plan is required by Connecticut Public Act 13-42, which was enacted in May 2013 and required the mattress industry to set up a recycling program in the state. The plan is funded through a fee collected at retail on each new mattress and foundation sold in Connecticut. If approved, the plan will be implemented in early 2015. You may view the plan at www.mattressrecyclingcouncil.org.
