Boyd Specialty Sleep—St. Louis-based Boyd Specialty Sleep leveraged its licensed brands to launch two new specialty collections featuring gels: the Thomasville Momentum memory foam line and a latex-based Lane Revitalize series. The three-model Momentum (pictured), which retails from $1,999 to $2,499, uses a new application technology to combine a poured gel layer with a gel-infused memory foam layer beneath it. Pinhole coring and channel venting in the top layers maximize heat reduction and airflow, President Denny Boyd said. The Revitalize line features four gel-infused latex models retailing from $399 to $999.
Englander Sleep Products, based in Chicago, introduced the redesigned Tension Ease collection (pictured) with new components such as gel memory foam and latex. Now lower-priced from $599 to $999, the four-model line offers encased coils, patented zoning to relieve pressure points and Douflex—trademarked, reinforced coils at the edges for full surface support, said Chief Executive Officer Kevin Toman. Englander also showed off the specialty Body Form line with price points from $499 to $799.
Kingsdown—Mebane, North Carolina-based mattress manufacturer Kingsdown rolled out an extensive expansion of its specialty sleep product portfolio with the introduction of 23 mattresses in three new collections—Sleep Haven, Miro and Elliptica (pictured), with retail price points from $1,699 to $3,999. Frank Hood, president and chief executive officer, said the collections, designed to help dealers close more sales at higher margins, offer the most innovative technologies and materials available for temperature regulation and breathability. Kingsdown also unveiled its most luxurious collection to date, Diamond Royale, a three-model, two-sided lineup retailing from $5,000 to $15,000 and handcrafted with high-loft cotton, cashmere, Merino and other rare wools.
King Koil’s new Posture Sense Elite collection (pictured), retailing from $499 to $899 and offered in a variety of comfort options and styles, starts with all-foam models, then moves up to foam-encased innerspring beds with gel-infused visco-elastic and, finally, to encased-coil constructions topped with high-end foams and latex. The Willowbrook, Illinois-based company also redesigned its Natural Response spa-like collection to give dealers more merchandising options.
Leggett & Platt Consumer Products Group—New decorative bed frames took center stage at the Leggett & Platt Consumer Products Group showroom, with a multitude of designs on display that spanned the style spectrum from mid-century modern to ultra-contemporary. Creating the most buzz was the Prelude (pictured), featuring a low profile, sleek silhouette and dramatic, retro-inspired headboard upholstered in an olive fabric and retailing for $999. The Carthage, Missouri-based company also rolled out unique Style Wrap, a continuous loop of stretch fabric that wraps around the edges of a foundation or adjustable base, providing a simple and stylish alternative to a bed skirt for $49.
