Danican delivers care packages to homeless shelter

Danican CEO Thomas Frismodt presents 25 sets of Danican ‘Care Packages’ to Traci Walker, resident services coordinator of the Housing Authority of San Luis Obispo.

Sleep accessories supplier Danican, a division of Aarhus, Denmark-based EverRest ApS, has begun distributing mattress and pillow protectors in “Danican Cares Packages” to shelters in San Luis Obispo county, home to the company’s Atascadero, California, headquarters.

The El Camino Homeless Organization of Atascadero, which serves the entire county, received the first donation of 50 packages. A second donation went to the nonprofit Housing Authority of San Luis Obispo, which serves low-income residents.

“It is an important part of our company, and my personal mission, to support people in need,” said Thomas Frismodt, Danican chief executive officer. “These protectors will help great organizations save resources and advert disastrous situations such as bedbug infestations, by keeping an essential part of their services—beds and pillows—from being destroyed.”

In 2014, Danican donated more than $5,000 in products to RISE in Paso Robles, California, which provides a variety of services to victims of domestic violence.

The company said it hopes to expand the donation program throughout California’s central coast region. Shelters classified as nonprofit organizations with 501C(3) classification may contact Kristene Thompson, email [email protected].
