Event to Recognize Homeless Veterans at LA Family Housing’s Bridge Housing
Los Angeles, CA., – October 27, 2016 – On Thursday, Nov. 10, iconic mattress retailer Sit ‘n Sleep announced today that it teamed with Tempur Sealy International, Inc. to donate two thousand Tempur-Pedic mattresses to LA Family Housing, a regional leader providing solutions to end homelessness in people’s lives.
The donation is made in honor of Veterans Day and to bring attention to LA County’s homeless crisis during Homelessness Awareness Month. To celebrate this donation and our Veterans, an event is being held at LA Family Housing’s Bridge Housing campus on Thursday, November 10th.
The impact of this donation will extend far beyond the Veteran community. The Tempur-Pedic mattresses being donated will be distributed to formerly homeless families and individuals throughout Los Angeles who have recently found homes through LA Family Housing.

Some statistics for perspective:
- 44,000 people experience homelessness each night in the County of Los Angeles
- 28,000 people experience homelessness each night in the City of Los Angeles
- It takes $5,400 to move a family into a new, permanent home
- LA Family Housing helped 6,400 people in 2015

The event to recognize the homeless veterans living at LA Family Housing Bridge Housing is being held on Thursday, November 10th from 10:30AM – 1:00PM. Media is invited to join us as we replace mattresses in the Veterans wing and enjoy a BBQ lunch for all of the LA Family Housing residents and staff. Miller, Klasky-Gamer and Steve Rusing, Senior Vice President, US Sales for Tempur-Pedic North America, LLC will make remarks.
