Donald Wolf dies

Donald R. Wolf died on Jan. 10 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was 90. Wolf was the uncle of current Wolf Corp. President Tony Wolf and spent his career in the family-owned business, a mattress manufacturer and fiber processor. The company was founded by Donald Wolf’s grandfather, Paul Wolf.

He worked at Wolf Corp. from 1948 to 2000, filling roles in a variety of functional areas, from general management, to plant management, to sales. He retired as vice president in 2000, and remained active on the board of Wolf Corp. until his death. Donald Wolf is credited with streamlining operations and reducing costs throughout his career. He also was an active member of ISPA-predecessor, the National Association of Bedding Manufacturers.

Born in Fort Wayne, Wolf served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and earned a degree from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University-Bloomington. He was a lifelong, active member of Trinity English Lutheran Church, the Lions Club and the Rotary.

Survivors include his wife Betty; brother Dick; daughters Linda Pendleton and Jenny Gist; sons Larry and Steve; grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
