Atlanta-based mattress producer Pure LatexBLISS has kicked off its “Customer Confidential: Confessions from the Bedroom” Facebook contest for retail sales associates. It concludes in July, with winners announced during the Las Vegas Market.
The ribald competition encourages RSAs to post the most risqué comments they hear from shoppers about the pros and cons of sex on different sleep surfaces.
The contest was inspired by the May feature in Barron’s “Sex or Sleep,” which discusses differing attitudes about sleep and sex on innerspring and foam beds.
“A couple’s mattress can make or break their sex life,” said Kurt Ling, Pure LatexBLISS president. “Our experience shows that RSAs hear the best and worst stories of how a bed has failed a couple. It is one thing for us to say latex mattresses lift consumers while other components allow them to sink during sex and to explain the science behind those technologies. It is quite another thing for retail sales associates to tell us what they know. It is much more colorful.”
“The industry buzz around the Barron’s article intrigued us so much we decided to dig into this topic on our own and have some fun with it,” Ling said. “At the end of the day, mattresses can be great for two things—sleep and sex. The world deserves a forum to understand the differences between one mattress and another with regard to sex.”
The grand prize winner will receive a Pure LatexBLISS mattress. Second and third place prizes are a Pure LatexBLISS mattress CustomFIT PillowTop and a set of latex pillows.
