Boyteks Offers “Vegan” Ticking

Taking part in a burgeoning consumer trend, textile supplier Boyteks Tekstil has introduced the Vegan ticking collection. With a leaf-accented logo, Vegan is a full range of fabrics for mattresses created from nonanimal sources. Vegan contains no wool, silk or other types of fibers derived from living creatures. Consumers who are dedicated to living a vegan lifestyle, can rest comfortably on this collection from the Kayseri, Turkey-based company, which is created from animal-free yarns, dyes and finishes.

“Our Vegan mattress ticking is certified by the European Vegetarian Union,” said Ozgun Orhan Alkoc, Boyteks brand representative. “The certificate confirms that animals are not used in any way at any stage of the production process of our product.”

In addition, unlike many nonfood, consumer products marketed as vegan, the new Boyteks collection also is entirely plant based, i.e., it contains no polyester yarn which is a petrochemical derivative, but is woven or knit from hemp yarn and other plant fibers.
