Mattress and sleep accessories producer Pure LatexBLISS, with headquarters in Atlanta, has signed an agreement with an unnamed Chinese mattress industry veteran to open Pure LatexBLISS-branded retail stores in Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai. All products sold in the Pure LatexBLISS stores in China will be manufactured in the United States.
The stores are scheduled to open in April and will carry the company’s existing line, as well as a mattress collection designed specifically for the Chinese market. The all-latex beds will be offered in 13-inch, 14-inch and 15-inch profiles. Retail prices will range from $2,500 to $8,000 (U.S.).
“The high-end Chinese consumer craves American-made luxury mattresses,” said Kurt Ling, Pure LatexBLISS president. “We are very committed to the Asian market. We have hired a seasoned Chinese mattress veteran to build our brand and distribution, modified our logo for the first time since our founding (to include Hong Kong alongside Atlanta, London and Paris) and are introducing an exclusive collection to serve affluent Asian consumers.”
Pure LatexBLISS, part of industry supplier Latex International in Shelton, Conn., has distribution in 15 countries.
