In addition to introducing a new body pillow collection, topper and pillow supplier Blu Sleep is launching Blu Goes Pink, a campaign in support of the American Breast Cancer Foundation. The Quebec-based company will donate a portion of its sales revenues to support the foundation, which funds cancer screening and treatment.
“Every ‘Wellness Airflow (PINK)’ pillow, body pillow and topper that we sell will help make a difference in the lives of women and their families affected by breast cancer,” said Blu Sleep co-owner and principal Elizabeth Ciccolella. “We are pleased to be playing a vital role in offering hope and improving the quality of life for those who could not otherwise afford these critical health care services. Our goal is to help provide assistance to those suffering from breast cancer and to improve the chances of survival for those diagnosed with breast cancer.”
The Pink line is part of the company’s open-cell, visco-elastic memory foam collection of pinhole-cored pillows and toppers. The open-cell structure and coring create a plush, breathable feel. Pillows also provide outstanding neck support and have cases imbued with aloe vera, the company said. Suggested retail for the Pink pillows is about $139.
Retailers do not have to make a minimum donation to participate in the program and display associated marketing materials. “We at Blu are meeting that minimum, and all our retailers, large or small, who choose to use our Wellness Air Flow point of purchase materials can participate,” said Alex Ciccolella, co-owner and company principal.
The company’s new collection of Blu Sleep Body Pillows is designed to improve sleep quality by cradling and supporting the stomach and relieving pressure on the joints and spine during side sleep. The body pillows are part of the Nature Series and available in four formulations—Aquagel, BioAloe, Wellness Air Flow and Vitality. They are expected to retail from $199 to $249 and will debut at the Las Vegas Market at the World Market Center July 29-Aug. 2.
